ALL PERTINENT CHANGES  Below

Until further notice, these COVID-19 guidelines are MANDATORY at DRIVE TRAINERS, for the safety and well being of all our clients, staff, instructors, and family.

 

All Persons wishing to enter DTC or who are participating in a classroom* training session:

  • Must wear a face covering.  (Face coverings may be cloth, bandana or commercially produced masks.)

  • Must undergo a Temperature Check.  (Persons with a temperature of 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit or higher may not enter the business nor receive services of any type at the time the temperature was taken.  No exceptions without a doctor’s written order.)

  • Must limit close contact (at least 6 feet) with other people; except when receiving in-car instruction or if participating in a DPS road test.

  • Must NOT visit the school or receive services of any type if they are feeling sick, have a fever or feeling ANY other symptom(s) indicating a possible sickness or unsafe medical condition.

 

Procedures and conditions for persons participating in Classroom Instruction (beginning June 1):

  • The number of classroom students will be limited to 25% of the school’s occupancy allowance, and include 6 feet of social distancing between all student assigned desks.  

  • Classroom instruction may be handled by in person training adhering to the 25% rule, (Option:  Classroom instruction may still be acquired through a shared TeamLink virtual classroom invite online.)

  • A maximum of 18 students will be permitted in the training classroom for class at one time, and must remain in their assigned seat, not gathering to socialize.

  • Instructional staff will remain 8’ from all students throughout all in person classroom instruction. 

    • Must wash your hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds prior to entering a DTC classroom OR (Soap and water will be provided by DTC. )  students may opt to bring and use their own personal alcohol-based sanitizer but must be observed sanitizing by a DTC staff person prior to entering the vehicle.

    • Must assist DTC staff in sanitizing their assigned desk before and after each classroom session.  (Sanitizing products will be provided, as available.)   Persons are encouraged to bring their own disinfecting wipes or cleaning products.  Areas cleaned shall include the desktop, seat, chairback, and all surfaces student engages in.

  • No food or drink will be consumed nor disposed of on campus during class times by students.  No snack breaks will be given in the course of the two hours of training.

    • Students are required to provide all their own writing utensils, paper, and textbook or handbook copies.  Provided as downloads to be print accessible on our website.  Electronics showing ONLY these reference materials may be used at this time in class, if provided by the student and secured at all times by the student. 

 

*Important:  In the event a person is denied participation in any class because of an unsafe temperature reading OR showing signs of a possible sickness or unsafe medical condition OR refusing to follow DTCinc COVID-19 prevention guidelines, a makeup fee will apply for the service(s) cancelled.

 

 

Procedures and conditions for persons participating in behind-the-wheel Instructions, in-car observation and DPS road testing*:

  • Must meet their instructor at the curbside.

  • Must wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds prior to entering a DTC vehicle.  (Soap and water will be provided by DTC, if unavailable at home prior to lesson. Persons may opt to bring and use their own personal alcohol-based sanitizer to be used prior to entering the vehicle.)

  • Must assist DTC staff in sanitizing the vehicle FOLLOWING a driving lesson or road exam.  (Sanitizing products will be provided, as available.)   Persons are encouraged to bring their own sanitary wipes or disinfecting products.  Areas cleaned should include the steering wheel, turn signal levers, transmission shifter knob, all mirror adjustments, seat adjustments, seatbelt buckle and lock, and outside/inside door handles.

  • A maximum of ONE student will be permitted in a training vehicle at one time. 

  • All observations of in car trainees will be suspended at this time, and an alternative assignment shall be provided.  Credit for the full two hour drive shall be given only after Assignment for observation is received and credited by DTC personnel in the required manner. 

 

*Important:  In the event a person is denied participation in a driving lesson or DPS road test because of an unsafe temperature reading OR showing signs of a possible sickness or unsafe medical condition OR refusing to follow DTC COVID-19 prevention guidelines, a no show fee WILL apply for the service(s) cancelled.

 

 

 

GUIDANCE FOR ALL DRIVE TRAINERS STAFF/EMPLOYEES FOR COVID 19 PREVENTION:

  • Employees must be screened before coming into the business for new or worsening cough; shortness of breath; sore throat; loss of taste or smell; feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit; or known close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. Any employee who meets any of these criteria must be sent home.

  • Upon entering the business, employees must wash or sanitize hands IN THE PRESCRIBED MANNER OUTLINED ABOVE.

  • All employees, without exception, will wear face coverings while interacting with customers or students, until further notice.  Exception:  Instructional in classroom staff may option to uncover their face for presentation effectiveness as additional distance is available between students and instructor. 

  • All payments should be taken over the phone, or online, if possible, and contact should be minimized if remote payment is not available.

  • Employees must wash or sanitize their hands after each interaction with a customer, and whenever possible, must disinfect any item coming into contact with any customer.

  • Encourage customers to wash or sanitize their hands after the transaction.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash followed by the washing or sanitizing of hands.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces as much as reasonably possible throughout the work shift.

  • Clean and disinfect cars and classroom after each use.
